SEEING IS FORGETTING : THINKING BEYOND

I designed a solo exhibition for artist, Robert Irwin, a contemporary American artist who explores human perception, often through immersive site-specific installations, architectural interventions that alter the physical, sensory and temporal experience of space. I decide what the show is called, what pieces are in the exhibition, and what the identity and supplemental materials look like. My interpretation of the exhibition translate to layout and materials in the publication and the poster.

“EXHIBITION PUBLICATION”
I designed the exhibition publication in a way it can be detached. Each Robert Irwin’s art work laying out in one brochure and together they compose the whole book. The text through the whole book is continuous and comes from the summary of a book talks about Robert Irwin’s life called “Seeing is forgetting the name of the thing one sees”.

“MATERIAL - TRANSPARENT”
Robert Irwin’s works exemplify the artist’s practice of creating environments that bring attention to spatial relations and the subtleties of perception. Thus, I printed the publication on transparent material, which itself can cooperate with the environment when viewers read it.
